The largest association of businesses of Latvia — the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) — invites to watch a discussion of the LCCI at the festival “LAMPA” about the topic “X, Y and Z generations in the same workplace — how to work TOGETHER? A new challenge to businesses”.
The Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Finnish Chamber of Commerce have sent a joint letter to the prime ministers of these countries urging to continue ensuring a single and open economic space under COVID-19 circumstances, while thinking of reducing the spread of the virus.
It is the right time to create a competitive business environment in Latvia, promoting productivity and export, especially at this time, when other countries are creating various instruments to support existing businesses’ ability to export and be competitive
Latvia needs a tax system evolution — by creating an environment favourable for business, by reducing the labour force tax and cost burden, by creating an environment attractive for investments — entrepreneurs and policy-makers claimed at the discussion initiated by the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry “Evolution of the taxation policy — for economic growth and a competitive environment.”
On 13 August at 10.00, at the LCCI conference hall, the largest entrepreneurs’ association of Latvia — the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) — is organising face to face discussions with candidates to the post of the Chair of the Riga City Council.
Being the largest entrepreneurs’ organisation in Latvia, it is important for the LCCI to create a viable and productive co-operation with parties standing in the early elections of the Riga City Council.
Last week the study “Excise Tax Policy in the Baltic States: Alcoholic Beverages, Non-Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Products” was presented aimed to analyse the excise tax policy in the Baltic States from the perspectives of budget revenue, consumer welfare, including public health, and other policy objectives.
On 5 August, members of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and of the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia (ECL) met with the Minister for Justice Jānis Bordāns to discuss the new cadastral value base project. Both parties agreed that any changes to the calculation of the cadastral value are possible only after the real estate tax (RET) system is sorted out.
The alliance of real estate developers and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry voicing concerns about the threats posed by the manifold increase of cadastral value and accordingly also increased real estate taxes, occurring due to poorly considered policy. Non-governmental organisations have examined the methodology of property cadastral appraisal developed by the State Land Service and the projected cadastral values in 2022.
The management of the largest association of businesses of Latvia — the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (the LCCI) — from this week onwards, will be meeting with political parties (unions) of the 13th Parliamentary convocation to discuss priority tasks of organising the business environment in order to ensure economic recovery after COVID-19, primarily covering the taxation policy, EU funds agenda, competitiveness and export.
