  • Name: Reducing unemployment – promoting entrepreneurship by combining business models and creativity into organic, young and promising business
  • Project number: 1-076
  • LCCI position: Partner
  • Total budget: 952 853,57 EUR
  • Total EU funding: 857 568,21 EUR
  • Dates: 27/02/2020 - 26/10/2023

The project will focus on the promotion of entrepreneurship among young people (15-29 years old). The project will directly involve not less than 240 young people in project activities and will integrate them to foster their joint effort in establishing viable enterprises (SME).
The project is based on a proven and tested methodology. In 2012-2013 Lithuanian Business confederation alongside its partners, Vilnius Gediminas technical university, University of applied social sciences and Utena University of applied sciences, has successfully implemented the project "CREAzone".
By using methodology improved during the "CREAzone", the project seeks to reduce the disproportionately high level of incapacity (as compared to the major cities), especially among young people, in targeted program regions: Alytus county, Utenos county, Vilnius county, Kaunas county, Panevezys county (in Lithuania), Latgale and Zemgale regions (in Latvia).

The project goal is to create new promising businesses by combining innovative knowledge economy driven ideas with business models in traditional industries thus contributing to the long-term and sustainable rise of employment in the Latvian-Lithuanian cross-border region.

Foreseen results:

  • To empower young people to become entrepreneurs by building their skills needed for the development of enterprises (SME);
  • To build an alliance of stakeholders, who are determined to create long-term collaboration on the promotion of youth entrepreneurship;
  • To promote visibility and sustainable development of newly established and existing SMEs.

Lead partner: Euroregion “Country of Lakes” Office in Lithuania  (Lithuania)
